It should be self-explanitory...I tried to cover all the basics...hope this helps at least a few of you! ^__^
If you really notice something wrong, please tell me. It would be a shame to make a tutorial for anatomy...that's all wrong. So please tell me.
This took a little while for little results--I worked from 11pm to 1:30am last night and then for another hour or so today. :)

These two sources, [link] and [link] were invaluable, as well as random searches on google image search for birds. :)

Oh, one more thing I have to say: I HATE the adobe photoshop CS text tool XDD. It's so frustrating :P.

Please do comment on this. Even though it's a tutorial, I spent time on it and I would love to hear your thoughts on it ^__^.
Tutorial is © to me. No stealing this exact tutorial, although you MAY learn from it. ^_^ Also, don't make money with my tutorial...because that wouldn't be very fair, now would it? (you may use it to learn and then EVENTUALLY gain money from your knowledge :)).

Good GRACIOUS Kalico, this was UBER helpful!! ^__^ I've never been able to draw birds at all, and wings always gave me a lot of trouble. I just tried drawing some wings with your tutorial (after about half an hour drawing humans... woo, new subject matter for ol' Kirsten! xD), and it helped soooo much! The wings actually look like... wings!!! .O. xD Hahaa, so yes, thank you for making this, it's sooo helpful! :hug: *faves right away*

As for your question? The only answer is: practice xD. I've been drawing birds for...well...forever. :) I don't know why, but I'm fascinated by anything with wings (birds, gryphons, dragons, even insects!). :D

I never knew that there were a set number of primaries and secondaries in a wing. And I thought that there were only three kinds of feathers on a wing, but there are five? Very fascinating. Thank you very much, Kalico.

A tutorial is a sign of mastery, because that means that you've found a way to do something well and you're willing to share it with others. I'm sure I've told this to you before, but again. Meh. =D
